I had been sad because my house was burglarized. Among the things stolen were my jewelry boxes. Among my small collection of jewelry was a little heart pendant. The diamonds in it were fake but I liked it and had gotten compliments. I surfed the net for hours trying to find another like it but had no luck.

Now... months later... while I was looking for something ... I found that pendant. The crooks didn't get it after all. It felt like a magical gift from God and made me feel happy to have it back in my hand. :)

They do say, with burglary, it is the 'little things' that can mean most? Very glad you found your pendant, anyway! :D

That's great about your pendant... almost like it sensed danger and hid itself.

Hidey holes ftw btw.

Bruce yes, Seen the films. Actually I avoided Harry Potter when it was huge because (1) I thought it was for kids and (2) it was wildly popular and I stubbornly resist popular fads.

But a few months ago I happened to see part of a couple movies during a tv marathon. I didn't realize what I was watching for a while. Loved the special effects. Well... since I tend to get a tad single focused... then I watched every scene I could find on the net and was still hungry. So I got on ebay and ordered the complete collection of all the movies. Had my own little marathon. LOL Now that I've watched them several times, I bought the collection of books.

Going from past experience, I enjoy a movie more if I see it before reading the book. That way I'm not getting all upset at the movie for leaving parts out that I was expecting. And I can now imagine the familiar characters as I read. So far, I'm enjoying the books. :-)

Though one thing that jumped out at me in the movies, and now even more in the books... Harry Potter sure did borrow a lot plot & character elements from JRR Tolkien's LOTR & Hobbit. I can't be the only one who noticed.

Oh yes and... what made me happy today.... ahem..
truthfully, having a safe oasis here to come and be myself and be treated kindly by nice people for a few minutes in the day. It is quite a relief from the online "social" game I've been playing at an NT site that is full of nasty hateful people and drama.

Ha! I happened to see the first film, not long after it got into Blockbuster with a 'friend', who lived in the same shared house with me. I'd have thought it was 'for kids' but I was having a drink &, um, smoke with him & he put it on & - yeah, it was pretty good, after all! Don't read many books, anymore - when there's 'better' things to do on my laptop &video games to play, instead - but my Dad has read them, while he doesn't like the films so much! Anyway, you enjoy them. :P

Just finished a really good (well I think it's good) essay on authority figures in Agatha Christie. Yay. Moreover we get to work on it for a wee bit longer before handing in the final copy.
