Registration Madness

Postby mirthmonkey on Fri Aug 14, 2009 12:05 am

Hello. It turns out that the reason I've had so much trouble registering for anything has been due to registration not knowing about my immunization record (which we did submit late since my parents didn't find a copy for me until later, but I did send one by November, thought the change would go through but didn't know it hadn't until June since medical leave), so they couldn't find that and I had shaky Internet in the motels, so it took until August until I could get a copy of my immunization record to the school again, and even then a few days happened with no response, so I had to phone (though my mom took it over).

Unfortunately, due to the very long time it has taken to get this all cleared up, I can't get into any classes I have interest in and have adequate prerequisites, but a couple I have been waitlisted (such as, 11 people ahead of me, open, with 24 enrollment, for my top choice).

So, while my housing has been paid for and I have a specific address, I don't know yet if I'm going to have classes. :sigh:

That's so disappointing! :(

All that effort…

I hope you get into your classes soon.

Yeah. I mean, I feel more confident when it's a science class and there's about 50 students in, but while there are certainly those who would underestimate the demanding nature of the work going into performing arts (I remember getting a fair amount of comments when in high school when telling that I go to an arts high school, asking if I "just draw all day" or "what do you do, just hang around and sing?"), and while this is a course lacking prerequisites, given the low enrollment and the high amount on the waiting list (just under half of the registered students would have to drop it in order for me to enroll - this is my first choice, my second choice has 13 on the wait list, but it has a higher enrollment of nearly double that of my first choice and is also a science class), and I'm not sure to be posting complex sentences now since they're running on.
