Closest I got was

He made a MENTAL connection with the ball to score a goal on the (Mickey) MANTLE.

But... the word goal doesn't seem right for baseball. Sounds like football or hockey. I don't know a lot of sports terms.

But he just said there is an E and an O. So umm... i dunno.

Goal is definitely football/ hockey or something, not baseball but I'm not familiar with many sports terms, really. Got to be some sports nut here to sort this one out before we all go totally crazy... :P

While I can imagine an English sports presenter saying 'lovely..' (they do!), I've no idea what 'on the volley' means. Google found that puzzle on the Mensa website & that is the official answer, though. I wonder if that's how Toad worked it out.....?

Toad has a long history of original cleverness in Puzzling, and is correct once again.
Googling answers really takes the fun out of this thread. ;)

Replace all of the blanks with a word. If the correct words are chosen a chain will be formed with each added word suffixing the previous word and prefixing the following word. What are the words?

BRIE _ _ _ OVER _ _ _ _ _ HAWK _ _ _ _ KILLER

:?: :?: :?:

Rearrange the letters of:

IT IS OUR SILLY PERIL

to give four words that you can bunch together.

What are they? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Why take the fun out of it, by going to the source for the answers?

If you can't keep yourself from peeking, just don't post the answers Bruce.

Keep the fun factor alive for others.
