Argh you do this to me every time!I just downloaded kvIRC and the first screen I get doesnt look like the ones you have, it asks for nickname which I understand and then real name does it want my actual name (which I would NOT be happy about giving them) or an e-mail adress?
I may not appear much but I am lurking, offline stuff eats my time...

Oh, you're still in the installer;

You only have to put in what YOU want to put in. if you feel uncomfortable, simple leave the field blank or put in N/A

OK I tried to put the "/join #islanders" bit and it tells me I am not connected to server
Your instructions are great I just have problems when something doesnt do what instructions say it should do!!!

At the top, did you put in "irc.freenode.net"?

yes I did that bit. theres a load of stuff written that I dont seem to be able to paste across and when I put the bit in the bottom it says you are not connected to a server
