I've heard that too Pup, and I personally do find there to be some truth in it.
Again, this is where my favourite herbal tea is useful as I'm not too good at drinking plain water and also having a hot drink is something I find quite comforting, so it helps me to replace the 'comfort food' urges.
Another thing is to make sure you know which drinks are diuretics, e.g. 'normal' tea, coffee, diet cola (my own personal weakness!). Drinking these in moderation is fine, as with all things, but bear in mind that they won't hydrate you, so you still need alternatives to drink to keep hydrated.
